Course Overview

The course examines Reservoir Engineering techniques that bothers on information and knowledge necessary to obtain maximum possible recovery from a petroleum reservoir at the least cost.


Course Objectives

This course is structured to provide solid understanding of the principle and practice of reservoir engineering in maximizing the ultimate hydrocarbon recovery. The course will centre on the fundamentals of reservoir simulation, data collection, building of simulation programs, calibration of the reservoir model, forecasting of future performance, and interpretation of simulation results.

It will address not only the fundamentals of Reservoir Engineering but also includes special topics like reservoir fluid modelling (PVT), field development planning, aquifer modelling, infill opportunities etc. using standard industry software.
