ABOUT OGTANOGTAN ensures quality local content inclusion in the oil, gas & energy sectors

The Oil & Gas Trainers’ Association of Nigeria – OGTAN is a group of training service providers in the oil and gas sector, established by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board in 2010.  OGTAN also acts as a business group that interfaces with industry operators who are required by the NOGICD Act Training Regulation to work with them in implementing their HCD training plan.

Procedure & guideline for membership registration
The Secretariat reviews your submission and sends the non-refundable application fee invoice based on your membership category.
Once payment is confirmed, the Secretariat reviews all submitted documents. If any items are missing, the applicant is requested to provide them, and when the documentation is complete, a physical verification of the applicant’s facilities and training capability is scheduled.
The verification team conducts the site visit and evaluates the applicant based on the membership requirements.
The verification report is reviewed and a decision is made on the applicant’s membership status, and if approved, the applicant receives an official Membership Certificate and becomes an OGTAN member.
Membership Structure and Fees

01. Corporate Membership – Nigerian Companies
(For companies with a minimum of 51% Nigerian ownership and at least one Nigerian director)

  • Application Fee: ₦500,000
  • Development Levy: ₦2,500,000
  • Annual Subscription: ₦2,000,000

02. Corporate Membership – Indigenous Companies
(For companies 100% Nigerian-owned)

  • Application Fee: ₦300,000
  • Development Levy: ₦550,000
  • Annual Subscription: ₦250,000

03. Associate Membership – Major Oil Companies / IOCs

  • Application Fee: ₦500,000
  • Development Levy: ₦2,500,000
  • Annual Subscription: ₦2,000,000

04. Individual Membership

  • Application Fee: TBD
  • Development Levy: TBD
  • Annual Subscription: TBD

Requirements & Responsibilities of all OGTAN Members
Be a registered company in Nigeria, with the Memorandum and Articles of Association (MEMART) clearly stating training, human capacity development, or related learning services as part of its core business activities.
Hold a valid NUPRC and/or NMDPRA Training Permit.
Have suitable training facilities (owned or leased) for oil and gas sector training
Employ qualified and certified trainers with relevant industry experience, ensuring that at least three trainers or consultants hold a recognized Train-the-Trainer certification and possess CERTIPORT or another approved digital literacy certification.
Demonstrate a track record of training delivery, or show capacity to deliver recognized oil and gas training programs.
Undergo the OGTAN Standardization Audit (ATSP) and attain at least Grade C within three years of membership
Work toward achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification within three years of acceptance.
Develop and maintain an updated Training Policy & Manual aligned with ISO 29993 and ISO 29994 requirements for learning services and virtual training.
Maintain an updated profile on the OGTAN website, including courses, contact information, and annual training calendar
Attend at least 80% of zonal meetings, actively participate in zonal and national OGTAN activities, and comply with OGTAN’s Code of Conduct, quality standards, and verification processes.
Provide at least three recommendations from existing OGTAN member companies.

To organize, standardize & render quality training services to give the required impetus towards realizing the local human capacity development mandates of the NOGICD Act (2010) in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

03MEMBERSHIP

Membership to the Oil and Gas Trainers' Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) is available to all legitimate Nigerian companies involved in training within the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry. We have a network of 400+ members.
